FAQ

How do I convert a prediction market price to American odds?

A price is a probability. Above 50%, American odds are −(p ÷ (1 − p)) × 100; below 50%, they are +((1 − p) ÷ p) × 100. A 60¢ contract (60%) is −150; a 25¢ contract (25%) is +300.

How do I convert decimal odds to a probability?

Divide 1 by the decimal odds. Decimal odds of 2.50 imply 1 ÷ 2.5 = 40%.

Why don’t sportsbook probabilities add up to 100%?

Sportsbooks build a margin (the vig) into their odds, so the implied probabilities of all outcomes add up to more than 100%. Prediction market prices are set by traders and usually add up close to 100%, plus the bid-ask spread.
